<![CDATA[SoliForum - 3D Printing Community — overhang print speed with fan?]]> 2014-10-15T15:44:55Z PunBB https://www.soliforum.com/topic/8001/overhang-print-speed-with-fan/ <![CDATA[Re: overhang print speed with fan?]]> Even without a fan pointed at the print, I get fine overhangs without speeding them up and noticed that my prints looked worse when I would speed up overhangs.  I noticed this was an added feature in one of the newer versions of slic3r.  The overhang per layer should, of course, be less than the path width.  I see no reason to do overhangs at speeds other than your typical perimeter speed.

It seems like the burst of speed is more likely to drag the filament out of position than being slow and steady.

Obviously the thing to do is just try a slower speed and see what happens, but I wonder if there is any conventional wisdom about this?
