Ron here from Filaments.ca and to answer your question; we usually ship same day or next day if the order comes in late. For most of our free shipping ($125 and above) we use UPS. We also use FedEx and Canada post depending on the destination.

Regarding the filament, we always tell new customers to simply give it a try. If you don't like it for whatever reason, we always stand behind our products and will take it back for a full refund.

2) Because I am a newbie, I have heard a lot of comments about people not liking a specific type of filament, what actually makes one brand of filament better or worse then any other?  I've heard a few people say they don't like the solidoodle brand filament, what is the reason for this?

It really depends on what you're looking for.
If you're looking for a filament that require min. calibration or looking a cheap filament that require some calibration.
The quality of the filament play a big role in determining the price of the filament as well.
That's many factors you need to consider.

There's no good or bad filament.  you just have to justify if this is the filament right for you.
