Many people have questions on the firmware process. In the event you do need assistance, the community will help until it arrives. You first need to figure out which board you have. SD changed from the Sanguinololu to the Printrboard late last year and the different boards require a different approach to the update process. If you look closely at your board, it will say one or the other. If purchased new in the last year, it is a Printrboard.

SD changed from the Sanguinololu to the Printrboard late last year and the different boards require a different approach to the update process. While waiting for the E3D to arrive, read http://www.soliwiki.com/E3D_extruder for a walkthrough. Bare in mind this walkthrough is for the v5, but the v6 is actually easier to assemble.

If you can print, make http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:393928 out of ABS and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:135575 out of whatever material you want. If you cannot print the extruder body, Filastruder sells them for about $5.

Note that this was based on the earlier E3D...there is now no need for the Kapton tape wrap for the thermistor.
