How did you apply the acetone? I've had some luck with vapor (no heat), but I've considered maybe trying to paint it on.

Myself, I've been drifting away from acetone and am going to be trying plastic primer (Valspar and PlastiKote) and clear coat (Rust Oleum). All this after sanding, of course. Wish I could post results, but my hot end clogged up big time and I'm waiting on a replacement from Solidoodlee (yes, an E3D is on my list).

Here at ridix.nl we tested the lowest printing resolution with home acetone treatment.
This way we can find out to what degree acetone really changes the surface.

As you can see, the result is way smoother after the acetone treatment.

I'm sure someone else also pointed this out in the past, but some other beginners in de 3D printing world might not know this little trick. Do you have any other surface treatment tricks for these people as well?
