whats com port number in RH? did you connect anything to puter that syncs like PDA etc? they steal ports and force you to make new higher number for 3D printer as its virtual and not seen as printer. assign a port number high as possible at least 12 pref 25. I had to go in advanced admin and renumber the port then let other device pick new one when it connected again plug and play always grabs lowest unused port (serial or USB) and if 3D printer is not running ATM its not seen as using port. this info cost me a week down time and SD techs and all the kings men couldnt make it work again. long process of elimination by me found this and thats running XP 32bit so 64bit may be trickier.

I have been happily printing along til yesterday. Then it happened. Seems like I lost the com port. I have trying to reinstall the usb driver( tinyusb) . It shows up in device manager but get a code 10 error.I am running win 8.1 64 bit . it's very odd as all was well even when I updated to 64 bit.Oh I did restart windows allowing unsigned drivers which worked before.
update : I have tried to install serial_install.exe on 3 pcs 2 xp and a win 8.1, either it shows up in device manager with an error or not at all. Could that file be corrupt? I am at a loss. It was so easy the first time I did it.
