Running the filament thru the same hole.
I also have the extruder bundle  on the top.  Rotated the extruder  heat sink 90 degrees and used a zip tie to secure the wire bundle.
Works great.
Going to make a tube to keep the filament from wearing the bundle cover on the iase hole.

The wire bundle comes through the center hole on the S3, not the hole on the left as it appears to on the S2. My wires loop down towards the bed. They appear to get pretty close to the belts, but haven't caught on anything yet. For me to use the guide I'd have to figure out how to train the wires to loop towards the left instead of down. Not sure how easy this would be....

It should fit fine. If you want it longer adjust your x scale before rotation.

I should probably print another guide now that I dont have  banding and give it a brush or 2 over some acetone to really smooth it out.

I just took my wire bundle apart to check for wear and I couldn't find any.  I found wear on the printed guide (minor) but not on the bundle itself.  Maybe you print much more than I do.

If you have the carriage all the way to the outside of the bed it might have an issue with running into the wire connections coming off the extruder (how often are you printing this close to the edge though?).  I have printed plenty of parts that were fairly close to the edge of the bed and have not run into any issues yet.

I don't print that big of parts very often, but that is precisely when I am most concerned about the interference and extra wire friction. When it is not over that far there is enough play that there is not a lot of friction, but when I am all the way over there, the bundle gets scrunched up and can actually grab the teeth of the belt as well as rub against the frame edge.

That was one of the problems I was having (bundle grabbing on the teeth of the belt).  I'm not sure it was actually causing any problems with prints but it sure doesn't seem like it would be very good long term. Kinda surprised Solidoodle has not addressed this problem (although it sounds like the wire bundle issue is kinda hit or miss).
