You might worry more about your floor fan smoking out than these things, which we are lucky if they work at all most days.

Case in point the oil filled space heater company that replaced a many years old unit of mine out of warranty after if failed dramatically with a melted face plate. They very eagerly wanted that unit back from me, paid shipping and replaced it with a newer one.

Kinda hard to proof read when a toddler is crawling up your leg

I can see how it could cause a fire hazard. If the hotend loosens up enough to wiggle its way out of the extruder, it could fall onto a print, a possible corner catching the thermistor wire and pulling it loose/snapping the line. I know this is a 1 in a trillion possibility, but Murphy's law always shows up to my door. If I am missing something to that regard, please correct me.

Somehow I have worn my lawsy mk5 extruder assembly out to such a point that the whole barrel and nozzle raise up a bit on every retraction, and then of course lower on every feed. Aside from the clacking it makes, the dammed thing works fine. Watching it work, it almost looks natural, like it should do that anyway, lift the print head when needed, then lower and ride on the hydrostatic pressure(?). Is a floating print head bad?
