Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

It may very well be the model I'm trying to print (thingiverse.com/thing:234867/#files ArmTall4H.stl) but I'm guessing others would have mentioned issues in the comments. Looking at the sliced model, there are a lot of small areas that would require additional time but I don't think it would not be this extreme.

The speeds I had set are the defaults of the RH Solidoodle installation. I've printed with these settings successfully several times but I recently switched which computer is controlling the printer. The manual override is still set to 100% -- I did notice accidentally scrolling this value the other day so I can see how this is possible.

Video of the latest attempt after restoring defaults on Slic3r. After 12 hours, only 13 layers had completed. youtube.com/watch?v=XHvL3V6udPw

Next attempts:
1) Try old computer which printed without issues to rule out a communication issue.
2) Reprint a model that I previously printed successfully.
3) Update RH, Slic3r, and firmware as wardjr recommended.
4) Test additional Slic3r settings

did you set those speeds or default? also other settings can effect end result even printer settings. 3mm goes a bit slower to make thicker just not as many passes/layers. have these settings worked right b4 for you? also STL file has some effect on slicing/printing. how many prints with different files have worked like you expect? just trying to see if this is the issue

also check slicer tab in RH and make sure you have selected the right type/size plastic. that can even slow slicing. its normal for est print time to be off a bit due to extra moves in G-code Id say average add about 5-10% b4 thinking somethings wrong

Hello,

First off, I'm new to 3d printing like a lot of people on here. I've been printing on and off for the past couple months without any major issues beyond the typical learning process stuff. Recently, my Solidoodle 4 has become excruciatingly slow to the point that it is taking anywhere from 2-6 times longer than RH estimates. A lot of the printing job is the extruder moving very minimally, dropping a dab, and repeats this. It could very well be my Slic3r settings but I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction or let me know if anyone else has experienced this since I can't seem to find other posts related. I apologize if this is too vague but if there is any other information I can provide, just let me know.

Solidoodle 4
Repetier-Host v0.85b
Slic3r v0.9.9
ABS on Glass

Slic3r / Printer Settings
dropbox.com/sh/8va3aifj6wqmrc0/AADroNfLwYykkZc8tjcU87Gya

Thanks,

Matt
