I have always been a proponent of printing models in several pieces, then gluing them together. Why resort to support that are hard to remove and leave marks, when you can break the model down to a few pieces that can be printed without supports.

I personally don't like using PLA, but your model came out very nice.

so we were ask to print this character tooth for a local dentist, as reference i was given a single picture. so i give it a try in zbrush and it came just fine... not so much the first 3d print... i try to separate the "hair" from the body but it just complicated things... not to mention the wasted material trying to make it a solid piece... at the end 30%filll on PLA slow 3mm print came out just fine... for the mouth i ruin several pieces trying to print the curve shape with supports... all came looking messy because of the extra material... finally ... i decided to print the mouth flat and use a heat gun(?)pistol(?) and slowly bend the mouth in the the body shape...finally some crazy glue for mouth and finish!.... has anyone has oven their pieces to give it a shiny look? i tried this with the heat gun and got some nice result....i may oven the left over pieces to see what i can get....
