			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Maybe I can send the electronics to you to see if they work with a different shield/nano pair or other part. (obviously not the hardware (no boards, bolts, etc))</p><p>I also tested the supply with a voltmeter, and got a steady 12v +- 0.10v</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>And I did attempt all serial ports (again as stated before, I have used arduinos previously) and attempted to upload the winder firmware to my Mega 2560 which worked. Too bad I cannot use that to replace the shield (it can work at larger power consumption). so atleast my computer is connecting to the arduinos properly. I also tried a handful of mini USB cables and they all worked (well the nano kept giving the same error)</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I suppose I could send another shield+nano.&nbsp; Maybe there is something about the shield that is killing the Nano, though I can&#039;t imagine what, since it seems to be getting 12v like it is supposed to.&nbsp; Does the new one respond if you try to upload firmware?&nbsp; Anything out of the ordinary about the power supply or where it is plugged in?</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Is the laser lighting up?&nbsp; It gets its 5v power from the Nano, while the servo has its own separate supply.&nbsp; There is a diode under the nano, the black cylinder with a line across it.&nbsp; Is the line on the bottom edge?&nbsp; There have been some boards with that diode put in backward, but I doubt that is the case since you seem to be getting power to the Nano since it heats up.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Check the voltage between the VIN pin and the GND pin on the upper right corner of the Nano.&nbsp; If there is 12v there, then the Nano is having some kind of trouble, maybe with its voltage regulator which I believe is under the spot you are pointing to.&nbsp; If there is 0v, then there is a problem with the board getting power to the Nano.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;ll try removing the libraries (I believe I have them installed from an earlier event)</p><p>The power light does turn on when disconnected from the board.<br />(See first photo)</p><p>The power light does not turn on when board plugged in and power switched on or off (You can see the PSU plugged in to the right)<br />(See 2nd)</p><p>The board does get very hot (way hot to touch, more than 70 C (in comparison to filastruder barrel) when switched on in the spot the rod is pointing to (See third)</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>When you plug the Nano into USB, does it light up then, but not when it is on external power?&nbsp; The compiling error might happen if you have the PID and QTR libraries installed in Arduino&#039;s library directory.&nbsp; They are also included in the firmware folder, so having them in both places causes an error.&nbsp; Take them out of the Library folder and see if it works.</p><p>If the Nano lights up on USB but not on board power, then there might be a problem with the board.&nbsp; I power up each board after I plug the Nano in to make sure it lights up, so I&#039;m not sure what might have happened between here and there.</p><p>If the Nano won&#039;t light up either way, I&#039;ll send a new one.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>When I turn the filawinder on, the servo turns about 5 degrees in one direction.<br />I have tried switching the potentiometer pins, in case I soldered it incorrectly.<br />Then I checked the pot with a multimeter and it showed to be fine. I switched it out with several other pots I had (between 10k and 25k)</p><p>I then tried reflashing the default firmware (I believe 9a) but I kept getting a Compiling error from the code.</p><p>What am I doing wrong?</p>]]></content>
