If you buy something from a company like shapeways, they use a different method involving powder, not filament. You could try acetone vapor smoothing the parts, or simply sanding it down

The Da Vinci is my first 3D Printer. I used 3d printed parts from other people and figured it was time enough to just make my own.

Thing is, I get the real feeling my prints are of a lower quality than the other parts I bought in.

Have a look at my pictures, you see the pronounced ribbing on the walls of my pieces. Parts I bought in don't have that.

Is this normal, the price we pay for buying a 'cheaper' consumer 3d printer?
