Those objects don&#039;t really need to be water tight or solid. Because May models in this way it is not optimal for printing.</p><p>Just because it is 3D on a PC or called 3D does not mean it is printable 3D.</p><p>Most CAD packages and Tinkercad have the ability to save or export a model as an STL.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Software is the biggest issue when printing. I always suggest switching to CURA.<br />Very little things to tweak to get your print perfect as well as results are exactly what you expect when you tweak the settings.<br />Its like when you push &quot;GAS&quot; you expect to go faster but with some software &quot;GAS&quot; would mean pump more gas into the engine but keep the speed causing engine overload and potential blow up.</p><br /><p>Seriously, CURA is very friendly and i had nothing but good times with it.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Hello all,</p><p>I&#039;m getting some offsetting problems when I print. Example_3 below shows an African mask I modeled in Maya, sculpted in Mudbox, .stl&#039;d in MeshLab and sliced in XYZWare. The top small example I did first using .3 setting. It did fine, so I tried scaling up the mask and slicing it at .2. The print head knocked the print off the bed. So I remodeled the rim to be flatter and have more surface area on the bed. It stuck fine, but as the bottom mask shows, the upper layers seemed to be printed offset giving the prints an oh-so-ironic resemblance to a Picasso cubist painting! <img src="https://www.soliforum.com/img/smilies/smile.png" width="15" height="15" alt="smile" /></p><p>IMG_0891 is a character bust I just finished last night. Oddly, the base printed, but then the printer offset the rest of the bust. Save for the area under the chin, which did have supports, it actually printed well at .1 setting. But the offsetting is a problem.</p><p>Example_4 is a success story. It is a yoda-like Kwele tribe mask printed at .2 with supports. The supports printed fine and came right off.</p><p>If anyone has any theories as to why the offsets are happening, and more importantly, how to fix the problem, I&#039;d appreciate some advice.</p><p>And I&#039;ve emailed XYZ service and they want to schedule a time to talk.
