Agree with the poster above me, the filament holder on my SD2 literally broke in the first 24 hours and even before it broke I had to prop up the spool. You dont even need a holder tbh I used mine for almost a year before printing a basic stand. I used the foam holders from shipping to lean the spool against the printer.

Pretty sure the majority of us have come up with different ways to hold the spool. On the 2nd and 3rd generation they were kind of a joke. Here's one I made using pvc from the local hardware store. You should be able to use any usb cable that fits. The toolkit is nice, but not necessary.

Notify SD about the spools and the holder. The tools, as I last recall, are upon availability and/or purchase through the SD webstore. They are closed over the weekend naturally, but they should respond by Tuesday at the latest. If mortified, PM Solijohn here on the forum. He will see it 9am EST.

You can assemble a spool holder from a hardware store using PVC and joints if the holder comes before the filament.
In the meantime, the filament provided could be used to help calibrate your printer. http://www.soliwiki.com/Main_Page#Calibrations will help you if your are new to this technology, and this forum is jam packed with helpful users

I purchased a couple spools of filament so that doesn't bother me, but I have no holder for the filament.
