I had to drop my Silver filament down to 190 to get good prints from it. Hotter temps just caused it to bubble and produce horrid edges on my prints.

I am printing on glass, with a fairly thick coat of hairspray to get it to stick. Running at 95-100 deg on the bed. I think I may of also tweaked the bed level a bit more, and got the tolerances a little tighter.

I'm an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" kind of guy. I love to know how things work, but I don't have the patience to tinker. I have to go slowly or I will break it, and if I break it I will throw it. I once tossed a dryer end over end down the driveway because I couldn't get the case off to see why it wasn't working. New one works just fine now..

@ CM - I haven't moved over to the dark side yet....if by Darkside you mean accelerated slicing, a far superior UI, and various visualizations...sounds more like a Jedi Movement compared that that stuffy ol' Darth Pronterface. 80).

Yeah, I think tonight I'm going to try backing it down to 205 to test it. Maybe add some weather stripping on my case to help keep the plastic warm during printing.

I printed some of the green at 210 (according to Repieter). It seemed to print ok at that temp. Still a little bit of issue getting it to stick to the bed. Bed was at 100.

I think the temperature the thermistor reports is lower than the real temperature also. I want to say its something like 30 degrees lower, but don't quote me on that. There's a post somewhere (might be on the solidoodle wiki) that says how you should adjust for the temperatures reported by other printers.

Ian had something on this on his blog if I remember right. Moral of the story was don't go to that high of a temp, could delaminate the PEEK?

I might have figured it out. I was looking at www.repraper.com and they have gold that is in the same packaging as what I bought from 3dprinterstuff.com. but repraper says the print temp is 210 to 250C. I am probably printing it too cold to get good adhesion. Anyone know what the upper limit on the extruder temp is?

For my Silver I had to lay quite a thick coat of hairspray to get it to stick.

I am starting to think that the darker the color, the harder it is to print with. The green printed better than the gold but not nearly as well as the natural, glow in the dark blue, or even the tardis blue. It also had alot of bulges on the flat sides of the box I was printing.

Have you tried hairspray yet? If you're using skeinforge (which you're probably not) you can turn the first layer flow rate up on the raft tab and get a little thicker base layer. I'm sure there's some equivalent in slic3r if you're using that. I haven't moved over to the dark side yet.

i recently got some gold (it really prints light brown) from 3dprinterstuff.com. i can not get this filament to stick to the bed. its even worse than the black. i have uped my bed to100 and the extruder to 205 and it acts like the bed with clean tape is teflon. the only way i have been able to barely get anything out is with a raft. and thats touch and go. i wouldnt mind so much if it was just the color, i can always paint it. but if it wont stick then it is useless to me.
