Though the orginal walnut also looked pretty good from the earlier tests. The long and the short of it that this material holds the stain very well on the color you see when you open the cans of wood stain.

I plan to get some Cherry and Oak gel stain soon also. The Walnut one I have been using is nice but I like the idea of having a few more choices. The Walnut stain one was aquired from Father in law as a test. smile

This actually turns out to be good when staining it as it makes slight color rings if you are looking closely.

As for wood variations in color, I don't think this wood stuff does that. If you want changing color you need to go with laywood. Though this woodfill is easier and stronger. I never got my woodfill to work right even with a nozzle change.

I still haven't gotten myself some woodstain but I found at the Printed Solid blog that they did indeed try and stained it and it seemed like sucesss (look halfway down the page). http://www.printedsolid.com/testing-new … -and-more/

If that is so, I would be pressed as to which I should invest in. I have read of many accounts that were able to get the "wood markings" from temp changes, which is nice. But Strength is definately a good selling point.
