I do know the temp reader worked on the stock hot end, but maybe my hole is too big. It could very well it is sticking out too much, as I was afraid to dill too deep as it was getting close to the nozzle.

The thermistor with kapton would work if I hadn't drilled the hole bigger for the stock SD2 temp reader. If I have to order a new lil metal block and the temp reader I'll send you the order number and I'll take you up on the offer to have the temp reader attached to the high temp wire

"Did you heat to 300C and torque the nozzle?" - No because of the screwy temps and it got late last night

"Did you follow the wiki? If so, what step are you currently on?" - On the part where you simply test it by plugging it in. My heater block and fan are a go, just the temp sensor was producing errors in R-H (I assume my fault) so I switched to the stock SD2 one.

I don't blame you for this, I am probbaly just inept at wiring.

I haven't done firmware or any settings, as I had to go to sleep and am at work for a few more hours right now.

Ah just in case someone reads this later and has the same problem. Apparently the low temp reading maybe due to me making the hole too big (I was told to drill it bigger, so I just used my judgement and tried to make it big enough for the stock SD2 temp reader). Seems I may need to buy a new lil metal block, but if I have to do that then I minds of well try the temp reader again. Biggest problem is that it will be another $35 or so and several days.

Apparently flashing the E3D friendly firmware on the new Soliddoodle main boards is a difficult process. So maybe the fact that for whatever reason my temps are reading half is a blessing in disguise with the stock SD2 temp reader, if I can just figure what to print at what temp. To go to the E3D temp reader now, I would need another $35+ in parts (new temp reader and new lil block since I drilled it for the stock Sd2 temp reader).

I have drilled a bigger hole and attempting to use the stock Sd2 temp sensor I have from my old hot end. I currently have it at least working but reading much lower temps. For example to make it extrude PLA I am needing to set it to a temp of 75 degrees. But I haven't done the firmware yet. Apparently since I have the Solidoodle main board it's a little more compliacted but wardjr is attempting to help me out.

Wiring is just not my thing. Troubleshooting some code, sure. Buying the componets and putting them together, sure. So forgive my lack of aptitude on wiring. Hehe
