Most of the time skipping is caused by resistance of movement.  The other main cause is from overheated electronics so a fan on the printer board may be all it takes.  The third biggest cause is poorly adjusted VREF's but since your machine is new I would focus on mechanical issues first.  Make sure your filament flows smoothly to the extruder without tugging as it moves around.

I just received my Solidoodle 2 Expert and started my prints. I went through the start here guide and attempted my first print. It seems to start just fine, however, it ends up staggering as it builds higher. I am not sure what would even cause an issue like this. Ideas?
