So I just received my pololu motor and although it specs the same it is not just a re-badge of the Stock SD X-axis motor.  I have yet to get it installed but the main difference is the shaft  has a flat in it and it is all black.  I will update once I get it installed.

Doest it make any installation problems because of shaft? So can you recommend me this motor?

The pololu one is exactly the same thing, just rebadged, so yeah I have experience with it. Its been on my SD for a year. Too bad they are out of stock for a couple of weeks.

I cannot say anything about Robotdigg motors. Everything else I have bought from Derek has been really good though. Mostly belts, bearings, pulleys, and electronics. But since I never bought the motor, I cannot honestly say.

People on reprap forums seem to favor getting stuff from aliexpress. I personally never have.

Thanks.  Dead link to smart automation and I can't seem to get there on my own.  Anyone got a link?  I would really like to find a US supplier, if I save a few bucks by ordering from China its not worth it if it takes 3 weeks.

You should be able to find a cheap metric thread tap at the hardware store for a few bucks.  Just buy one for the next size bigger than the stripped hole.  Buy for bolts the new size and don't forget something to turn the new tap.  Aluminum is easy to tap if you take it slow.  You may need to drill the holes in the motor ever so slightly larger and maybe you won't.   Ask what drill size is used for the tap you bought.  The trick is (once you get it started) screw in only until it feels like it is going to stop and then back out about 1/2 turn.  Then go back in and repeat each time it will screw in slightly more until you have the new threads the depth you want.  The other option is go buy 4 self tapping machine screws the length you need that are slightly larger than the stripped holes in the motor.  This may mean that you don't end up with metric threads.  Bring your caliper to the store with you and buy several different sizes or bring you motor with you.  There is no reason to replace your motor just because the screws are stripped.  Other than the trip to the hardware store this shouldn't take more than a few minutes to fix.

since you are ok with making the holes bigger just tap them out to a m4 or 5 and put in bigger screws... easy and cheap fix just make sure to keep the filings out of the inside of the stepper.

I was actually referring to the holes in the side of the case, I could comfortably enlarge those with my dremel.  I don't have a thread reamer, I guess I could get one and find some scrap metal to practice on before I take it to the motor.  I've never used one before but I guess I can figure it out and if I damage the motor them I'm still in the same spot I'm in now.
