Is there a way to set my Z Home position for it to correspond with the start of the printing position? So I can level from Home and it actually being the level the bed starts the first layer off? How do you level your bed? From what position?

Ok on the Mac the process is a little different.
I'll get back to that in another post.
The first layer problem is exactly what I said so if what your saying is true set your first layer height in slic3r to lets say .3 if your then saying that your bed is homed to lets say that same .3 gap. When it starts you end up .6 away? If that's the case then why wouldn't you just adjust your Z so it is just touching your nozzle. Then when it starts it would drop .3 or what ever and start printing.

Thank you for your response!

As to layer height- I’m sorry I’m confused a bit.

Also I have tried configuring the extruder (how much filament it pulls) and it’s pulling 131.37 instead of 100 but then I’m not sure where to go from that because when I click the EEPROM window on my RH it’s empty and when I tried to fix it by adjusting the extruder multiplayer using the formula in the tutorial (i.e. if it’s pulling 30% more offset it to 0.7) it only adjusted to 127.52 and using 0.68 got me to 122.44 instead of 100... But at this point I still don’t think that calibrating the extruder will help my issue with layers not sticking... I’m sorry if this is confusing, I’m very new to this and trying to figure it all out and so far I am failing miserably.

Also to calibrate the bed do I calibrate it from “home” setting? Because when I do it seems fine but when it goes to print it actually lowers the bed to a slightly lower level so then the bed is way off... The only way I can calibrate the bed is when I kill the job straight away and calibrate to the position the extruder was in. What am I doing wrong?

If you want a stronger print, adjust this. I get the best between .75 to .9
If you adjust this, click the disk icon to save to whatever profile you want.

Also, go to the Filament Settings. The first screen that pops up will show "Filament Diameter".
When I got my SD2, it was set to 3mm. Since we are only able to print 1.75 without mods, this needed to change. No matter WHAT that number says, you need to use a caliper to accurately measure the filament. I am currently running 1.76-1.78, so I set mine to 1.78. You "could" enter in a number a touch hight, but accuracy is important here.

Hope this helps!
