YES! it could be. I had the exact same problem. Get them to replace it, use a piece of glass. Or do what will improve your machine. I don't know about the Solidoodle 4, but 3 and below had stupid underpowered power supplies which really cause serious performance issues with your bed heater and hot end.

Upgrade your power supply to something in the realm of a 12V 20 amp - 30 amp, or more. You can pick up 12 V server power supply brand new off ebay for about $10. Mine was a 54 amp 12 volt supply. You have to be handy with a soldering iron to do the conversion. But well worth the time in my opinion. Although maybe Solidoodle has since supplied better power supplies with the machines. Anyhow the reason to upgrade is because your bed heater will work much better, and will allow you to upgrade your bed to a piece of granite or thick glass. I prefer granite. Here's a link to my bed upgrade with pics.

http://www.soliforum.com/topic/5449/fav … d-upgrade/

Good luck.

If you do not trust UPS and are impatient, do like he said. I bought 2 mirrors at a local glass store for like $8. Superior to printing on Kapton (in my experience), and it looks neat. If you by a 1/8" thick cut of glass, it won't warp to the curvature of even the warpiest warped bed. If it does, it would take a very long time.

well you see i bought some glass but when i put it on the glass wouldn't lay flat because i think the metal bed is warped, could this be?

I can't tell from the Picture if that is solid or not? I assume not so first things first turn on about 5mm's of brim.
Second go buy a cheap 8"x8" piece of cheap glass at any hardware store. Spray both sides of the glass it will stick to the Kapton tape pretty well after you cycle the heat a couple of times. Adjust your Z-height to compensate for the glass and make sure the bed is perfectly level in relation to the nozzle. Then using that same print with let the brim start to print and adjust the Z-height until the ABS is squished nicely to the bed. I don't know what temp you have the bed at but I find more heat is a good thing. I use 108 but 100 to 105 should work.
Hope this helps and Happy Printing.
