Thank you for the link Ronsii!

I kind of did a down and dirty calibration of the extruder by printing a single layer cup I found on thingiverse and adjusting the speed and flow rate sliders in repetier until it would print ok. Probably the hard way to do it, but I learned from it so it's not a waste. Still getting familiar with everything and learning all the way!

Hello!

Ordered my SD2 in early January and it came in within 2 weeks, so I am a very happy camper.

I've been following 3D printing for several years now and if I had to name one thing which got me to go ahead and get one of my own is this forum. I assumed going in that there would be a huge learning curve and I learned so much from this forum while I was in lurk mode that it made the thought of taking on that learning curve as something manageable. The thing that really impressed me was that in one forum you can get help with what turn out to be simple fixes all the way up to major upgrades / mods. So to everyone on this forum that has added to the knowledge-base and welcoming atmosphere, you have my thanks.

Thanks in large part to this forum (and Solidoodle of course), I was able to get printing in the first few hours of unwrapping my SD2 which was a huge boost in confidence for me. Those prints were not perfect, but were enough to keep me from getting discouraged. At first I couldn't get anything to stick to the bed, but that's largely sorted out. Additionally I've already gone through the bed leveling, z offset adjustment and the y axis belt and pulley adjustment. Still can't get a perfect circle, but I'm headed in the right direction of learning what works and what doesn't.

Mike
