Well i was thinking that if one doesn't have a winder built up then to wind their filament onto a reel, can they try hook a spool onto a fishing rod, and reel the filament in after its all extruded.

Hugh Lyman used one for guiding the filament. It's a little expensive if you are going to buy one for that purpose.

Greetings,

so i had a random thought, i attempted fishing once upon a time, but gave it up, probably because i wasnt any good. Anyway, my uncle would use a fly reel, basically a spool on a holder. So i was wondering, could this work as a winder for the filament i extruded from my filastruder?

My printer is down for maintenance so i cant test it out now, but saw a simple fly reel on thingiverse, maybe someone can give it a shot and let us know if it works.
