I have got some ballbearing fans off ebay they're ok... but at over ten times the price... hard to say if they last ten times as long or not.

You can easily oil the fan you have to extend it's life quite a bit or as a preventive measure makes them last a lot longer because I don't think they oil the bushings much if at all during assembly, just peel the sticker back on the fan and use a toothpick or similar to get one drop of machine oil in the hole where the shaft resides and voila no more noise smile
