I'd suggest scaling down the model to see if the size is the problem, and if so, slice it up into a few different parts.
If errors in the mesh are the issue try cleaning it up with NetFabb smile

I tried several files and slic3r presets all same way even after clearing cache and turning browser off. it trys for few mins then crashs. I just used it last week for same files and presets so...
