Don't worry about any of that now just use what you have.
The BulldogSDCarriagemount is the setup you will be using with your new bulldog.

But... it looks fun. Although, I have no idea where to get linear bearings.

I can wait to do those til I am more familiar with everything though. Is there any other files I need other than the one you already linked?

No it didn't.

That would be excellent. I measured the rods out to be 8mm. Not really sure about the linear bearings.

I think the SD3 came standard with some 8mm rods in the y-axis and linear bearings. Should be all set for that mod. My current set of calipers are super old and don't have a measurement device attached to them so I have to bring it over to a ruler.. I could be off a little.

Sounds like you have the right attitude for this stuff.
As long as your having fun and learning something in the process, that's all that matters.  While you at it order some polished 8mm rods and linear bearings and I have a new mount that works really good.  Otherwise I have one for the SD carriage that works fine also.  That one is already on here in another post.  I'll go find it and post the link.

Ah, that makes complete since! Will do. I'm the one who had some clogging issues and although I think I narrowed it down to the filament I was using, I had read a couple complaints about clogging with the stock hot end.. so I figured... Why not upgrade my hot end?.. and while I'm at it might as well get a better extruder. Then.. While I'm doing that.. might as well upgrade my power supply so I can upgrade some other things later. What a vicious cycle this is all turning into! The best way to learn is to jump right in though.

Is there any reason you aren't going with the XL.  It is geared 5:1 and for all practical purposes eliminates the need for a 1/32 stepper for the Extruder.

Well.. Two reasons.. because I'm new to all this and not sure the difference as well as the price was a bit cheaper. The second part doesn't much matter though.

Besides printing the mounts, You need to shim the E3D slightly with guitar wire, a washer, u-mold etc as its not a perfect groove-mount its actually slightly taller.

You dont have to upgrade the power supply for either of these upgrades, but it is highly recommended.
