No kapton tape on hand. Could I use teflon tape instead to electrically insulate the thermistor from the brass nozzle and to hold it on in addition to the fiberglass rubber band that is on the nozzle?

Teflon tape is definitely heat resistant enough, and doesn't conduct.

Am I missing something here?
