It would be better if the manufacturer is an expert in color pigment, so they maintain the color consistency in every spool.

If you are doing it yourself, you need to weight the pigment and record them every-time until you get your color.  It is a pain.  And make sure you wash your filastruder every time you change color.

Our only problem would be Masterbatches in those colors.  Trying to nail down the mix ratio to blend custom colors from what is commonly available to match colors like that would be a nightmare.

If you're less worry about print quality, you can go for amazon or ebay.
If you aim for perfection, you would like to get filament with low tolerance & high consistency in every spool.

I either buy JustPLA or Makerbot...I've had nothing but problems with SD filament (am I the only one??). Makerbot's filament is the bee's knees!
However, I live in Chicago and we have 2 different 3D print stores here. So if I have an emergency, I can go to either one big_smile
