			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;ve never done this, bit I think it is still clay, it has just been shaped by an extruder instead of hands - I don&#039;t think there is much difference other than possibly the composition of the clay being somewhat different for smoother extrusion, possibly requiring different times and temps for firing. I poked around on google once and found some web pages that say a porcelain mixture works best.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I&#039;ve been looking into 3D printing as an option for creating custom mugs and other ceramic objects. From what I&#039;ve seen, consumer level printers extrude clay, but services like Shapeways utilize a powder.</p><p>Can comparable results for ceramic objects be obtained using the extruding printers rather than a powder approach? Is there any reason the clay that is extruded by printers like Hyrel cannot be glazed and fired like any other item?</p>]]></content>
