That explanation helps a lot! It sounds like there is a problem with either the sensor or the temperature measurement portion of the controller.
The sensor is a k-type thermocouple. Do you have any on hand?
Can you remove the yellow housing from the sensor and inspect for broken wires?
I am guessing the sensor is defective/damaged, but either way we'll get it sorted out.

Wow! I didn't realize you carried E3D hotends now. It's great to finally see a US supplier for these; that dollars-to-euros conversion has been a deal-breaker for me. Any plans to support the bowden-feed version?

Indeed. Some of the suppliers have raised their prices, and FedEx Freight has nearly doubled their fees for some of the larger shipments coming in. Unfortunately, we had to raise prices $10 to compensate.

I can't believe its been a year already. Much has happened - from workbench to Kickstarter to online store. In the last 6 months, almost 1,000 Filastruders have shipped to over 30 countries. People have done some pretty neat things, from conductive carbon impregnated ABS to closed-loop automated winders, with lots of blobs and ramen in between. At least three businesses have been started or grown significantly as a result of Filastruders getting out there in the wild. Pretty neat.
