I actually had to start over. I mentioned in the above post that it wasn't perfect and I realized why at about an hour left in the first attempt. the filament was being stretched and it was forcing the extruder out of proper placement. When I realized this I halted the first attempt, but luckily it's good enough that I'm using it for my support and am using the other piece in the photo to show everyone how good it is.

I made an iphone 4 case for my dad because it has a broncos emblem on it. He doesn't even have a cell phone but he'll like the bronco emblem.

After working with the printer for a little bit I am now printing my first piece though it's not perfect. it's the spool mount! as of now I have 1 hr and 45 minutes left. I will post a pic as soon as it's done.

It sounds like you have the wrong settings in RH.... which would definitely affect how it works.

Not near any of my printer control comps right now but if you post up screen shots of your config settings I'm sure someone will notice whats wrong probably just a reversal thing.

EdIT:If I recall correctly for the SD on RH 'home x an y' are both set at 'max' and 'home z' is 'min'.

Does your printer also make grinding noises at the other corners? Also my printer seems to lock up and stop responding and is now going in the wrong direction when I click on the directions in repetier. I have still yet to print anything but I'm trying to take everything in stride and understand that I need to learn more to fix it.

You should be able to glue the broken piece with plumbing ABS glue or any other glue the will do plastics to get the printer up and running enough to print a replacement part

That is how it is supposed to be... bad design on SD's part, basically if you start the printer with the printhead/extruder in the front righthand corner it will try to home both x and y axis at the same time... unfortunately x will jam against the y idler pulley mount... the solution is to move the printhead to the center of the bed( or at least an inch away from the idler mount bolt) before powering the printer up.

I believe it's the y axis belt mount in the front left corner. It is now broken off and I cannot figure out how it should be placed so that the extruder works properly and can travel to the switch.

Sorry for my lack of proper terminology but I'm now just outside of my first 24 hours with the printer and haven't been able to actually try and troubleshoot it yet.

These are some photos showing the piece, the screw on the piece blocking the extruder from reaching the shut off switch, and the piece actually being broken off.

Hello,

I am a noob and just received a used solidoodle 2 expert model yesterday and when I turned it on and tried using it heard a terrible grinding noise. I later realized after reading on here that the screw was blocking the extruder from reaching the home location and triggering the shut off switch. I need to see how the piece should be positioned and what settings I should be using since when it tries to go home the screw blocks it from ever getting there.

I also programmed repetier to use the default settings on solidoodle's website.
