Hello.

Sorry im new to all this but very intrested. I want to get a 3D printer to learn off and see what they can do. Im a fitter machinist by trade and a little bit tech savy.

Well here it goes.

As I know next to nothing about 3D printers from a hands on perspective but I have done some research. But. As we all know the internet can be very misleading as can company run sites with a motive to sell a product. So thats why im here to ask you guys what you think. You are the ones who own and get to use these machines.

Im looking for a 3D printer with a few must haves.

Nylon and abs filament.

X & Y travel of 250mm (10") or greater ( not to much more than that tho)

Z travel needs to be 175mm (7") at least.

Duel nozzles/ duel extrusion

Price range is upto $3000 US or AU and is of quality.

Program used to do designs is of quality.

Another question.

Whats the community's thoughts on scanners to replicate intricate items. Are they of quality and productive or are they just a gimmick. I have looked them up. But as of yet am a little displeased with the results and cheapness of them. I could be wrong and looking at the wrong area for them tho.

And one more question.

With the nylon used in these printers. Could it be used for mechanical bushes and uses.

Thats something I have been struggling to find is the integrity, mechanical life and strength of the nylon.

Any help on this would be great and much appreciated aswell as helpful to the community.

Thanks

HHindustries
