My $.02: do you have an enclosure around the cabinet?

I had some success by saving a new set of print settings (like "Solidoodle .2MM - three qtr speed") and slowing all the print speeds by a fourth. But that's just me. I set my bed at 100 and extruder at 200.

Also, I use an 8" square mirror I got at the craft store which works much better than Kapton and you can scrape parts off with a razor if needed. The mirror is an additional heat sink so it acts like a thermal flywheel, stabilizing the heat, although it takes longer to heat up (I let it "soak" for about five minutes after the thermistor says the bed is up to speed).

In essence, in my humble opinion, it seems like you need to give the layer underneath every chance to be warm enough and for the new layer to lay down slow enough that the two layers bond.

Finally, I get better results with the E3D hot end, about an $80 investment. But you should still get respectable results with the stock hot end.

Welcome aboard, Warren.

Hello all, I believe this is my first post. I've been working hard to get my SD3 perfect. I'm close.

I guess I can't attach links to my pics, so I've attached pics of the problem I appear to be having (not sure if it is a problem, or not). these are interlocking terminal blocks.

My top layer seems to have gaps, and when looked at from the side, you can tell definite layers that tend to peel apart when pried.

I am printing onto kapton tape with the extruder at 210 degrees and the bed at 90 degrees.

Any ideas? I was attempting to make starter screw holes where I can screw in terminal screws. It appears to work, but the holes seem to be floating. I also expected the top layer to be a bit more filled in (particularly around the holes).

As for the layers peeling, even moderate prying with a fingernail results in a cracking and the layers splitting apart.

Thanks for your help.

Warren
