2n2r5, thank you a million!
You pointed me in the right direction. Even if I choose just one perimeter, it would fail. But if I set wall thickness to 0.35mm instead of 0.42mm, it falls into your formula (1.5mm / 4 = 0.375mm) and now it generates correct infill if selected 1 perimeter, and walls made only by perimeters if set to 2 perimeters.
The tiny crosses inside the infill probably is a way Slic3r use to display a design error, but couldn't find any evidence...

Nick

It's that the wall thickness is not an even multiple of the extrusion thickness. You can either redesign the model with walls closer to n*.42 +- .03 or so, change the extrusion width to be a denominator of the wall thickness or try less perimeters and hope the infill kicks in.

Thank you for the replies,
My horizontal shells and infills are left at default.

The problem is that the model is made by solid walls with a couple of holes.
The walls are at least 1mm thick, don't remember exactly, which is way more of 1/8" thickness, equal to 0.31mm.
When sliced, the walls are infillied with a strange pattern, there is no top horizontal shell at all and the holes are closed.... Makes me really puzzled why the stl model is perfectly displayed in repetier host and slic3r output is so different.
Do you want to run the stl file in a different slicer and let me know the results?

I'm using Creo under Windows 7 64 bit

Hi guys,
I'm trying to learn Creo Elements free version as many of you reccommended.
It really has the feeling of a professional software, it comes from the same folks of Pro/Engineer after all.

However my model, which appears to be completely fine, don't have top solid face when sliced. Instead, it is mostly empty with tiny crossed shaped columns inside, regardless of the infill selected. Even with 100% infill they are still weird. Same for the internal screw mounts.

Additionally, the lateral holes get filled with no reason since they are holes...

Used Slic3r 0.9.10b. The part had 4 non-mainfold issues where the internal screw mounts intersected the walls. I reduced their radius a little bit to make them not intersected and the warning is gone. Also Netfabbed it with no results.

Here you find the STL file and also the Creo model. Sorry, if I attach the file with the Add file feature the upload timeouts.

http://www.nicosoft.it/pictures/boxrelay2.stl

http://www.nicosoft.it/pictures/boxrelay2.pk2

Thanks for the help!
