So you posted a link to the DRV8825 boards for $12.50 each when the main post was about buying them on sale for $6 each. Am I missing something?

You might be able to use an uno, but the form factor is different so a lot of input outputs would have to be changed. Not even sure if you can, honestly. For the price, I'd get a Mega. I have a couple unos poking around, but for $20 getting a mega was worth it to me.

Biggest one for me is that the A4988 can only do up to 1/16 microstepping and the DRV8825 can do 1/32.

Not a bad deal considering all I want to do is get 1/32 stepping for the extruder.

The nice thing is I'll now have a spare printrboard to run the steppers on the laser I'm putting together!

It has less memory and smaller traces. Ramps is an improvement all the way around. ATmega2560 knockoffs are cheap and work well. You can get them for <$20 pretty easy.

I am full up on both so not helping me much but others should be jumping on this. I might pick up a couple DRV8825s just as spare if shipping is low enough.
