That is a particulate mask. It filters dust.
You need something that filters organic compounds if you're going to wear anything, though doing it outside is plenty safe.

People have used rice cookers, egg cookers, basically anything that doesn't have an exposed heater area and can be completely closed off. This allows you to confine the vapors and re-condense to finish your pieces.
As for the fumes, just use it in a well ventilated area and you won't have too many problems... If you have to, keep a face mask handy, but if you can uncover and remove the part without sticking your face in the cooker, you won't have much of a problem at all.
Would a simple particle protection mask work? I was thinking of simply taking it outside towards the yard and using an extention cord for safety.
I recall a thread that used a more brand name steamer, and didn't require kapton tape of which I hate to spend $10 a sheet on whenever possible.
]]>It used hot water rather an an electric heater to boil the acetone, though that's a lot more trouble. The main difference is using a chilled copper coil at the top to contain the vapor. It creates a zone of cold air which the vapor cannot cross without condensing back into the pot. The presto is a lot easier to use, I can have a print smoothed within 5 minutes of getting out the pot.
