It is limited for safety reasons, to avoid dangerous thermal decomposition products. You can at your own risk upgrade the power to the heater to 18v 5A. That should get you over 300C. What is the max temperature it can reach? (The other kickstarter DIY filament extruder goes to 400 C, and reliably holding 350 C for long production runs)
