Thanks 2n2r5 for responding.

I had my Solid infill at 30mm/s already. I bumped up my top and bottom layers to 4 and 5 respectively. Seeing better results now.

Unfortunately, my fan bracket fell off the print head and melted, so I haven't been able to use my fan for the last several prints :-) I've printed a new one and am getting ready to attach it properly this time.

I still have a lot to learn about how Slic3r/Repetier prints things. It seems to want to slow down considerably if working on tiny layers and go blazing fast on large layers. I think I'll experiment with the settings that are available that relate to layer print time.

So much to learn, so little time! haha

Thanks again for your time, 2n2r5.

Horizontal shells, how many tops do you have? This should be 5-6 minimum for .1. I think 5 - 7 is what i run here.

Other things to try if they are okay,

In slic3r > Print Settings >
Speed: Top Solid Infill = try slowing this down to 30 mm/s

Also,
Advanced Section: Top Solid Infill = Bump this to .5 or so

Hello,

I've been printing like mad ever since I got my Solidoodle 2 tuned pretty well. Thanks in most part to Ian and others on this forum.

Most all of my printing has been at 0.1mm layer thickness, and it has gone well for the most part.

I think I have a print speed or extrusion issue while printing top layers on top of infill. Please take a look at the attached photos of a test print of a cube.

Dimensions are approx 37mm by 24mm by 2mm thick.

I'm using Repetier 0.90C and Slic3r 0.9.10b. I've configured Slic3r to:

- print only one top and bottom layer
- 0.2 infill
- infill every 3 layers
- fill pattern (tried multiple with same result)
- infill 60mm/s, solid infill 50mm/s
- All extrusion widths set to 0.42
- Bridge flow ratio 0.75
- Extrusion multiplier 0.82 (measured the filament to 1.67mm using digital caliper and ran the extrusion tuning that Ian Johnson outlined)
- Bed temp 95, extruder 195

I'm hoping someone can look at the pics and say "Oh, yeah, you need to tweak the thermothroggle value..." or something like that :-)

Thanks in advance!
