Also with the installation, .rb plugins can generally just be dumped in the folder and just work, but .rbz need to be installed as Adrian has noted.

I have been using SU Make 13 with SU solid for the last couple of weeks without issue. It should have an entry in the plugins menu as well as its own toolbar you can enable.

Make sure you aren't putting them in the sketchup8 folder and opening sketchup13 or vice versa.

You have to install via the extensions menu itself...

Window->Preferences->Extensions... click 'Install Extension..", browse to where you downloaded the extension (not inside the sketchup folder!) and bob should be your uncle.

Also note, extensions manifest in many ways - Sometimes all it adds is an extra option to import/export for example - you don't always get a tools menu entry etc...

Finally, not all versions of extensions work with all versions of Sketchup - Sketchup Make 2013 is brand new, and whilst very similar to sketchup 8, its not 'the same', so not all extensions are guranteed to work.

Dang it. The same thing keeps happening! I bought the SuSolid plugin, unzipped it into the SketchUp plugins folder, started SU and I don't see it in any menu.

What am I doing wrong? Or more likely, what machine setting am I missing? I am the only user of the machine, I am the Admin. I have even tried turning OFF the Verify Digital Signatures feature. Why doesn't SU see the plugin?

This is the fourth plug in I have unzipped that doesn't appear anywhere in SketchUP, even after restarting.

Please help. Thank you.

Windows 8
latest SU 2013 free edition
