BEC is the name for a specific Module that mostly carries JST or for higher current work "Deans" Connectors (T-Type) etc .......

Unless you use lead-free solder with its higher melt point, standard leaded solder is not wise to use, as the heat from the current and the extruder can cause the heater wires and the thermistor (worse thing to fail) wires to fail open as the solder degrades.

The JST connectors should just be *crimped* on... This is also the reason the stock connectors use a modified punchdown socket and bullet or bootlace crimps.

Solder anywhere near the hotend will just be asking for trouble in 2-3 weeks time... Just ask Lawsy wink

I just picked up a couple of pairs at the hobby store. My extruder temps started wandering up and down randomly. I swapped extruders and it was OK for a day or so, then the same thing time to upgrade. I ordered an additional package of ten pairs from Amazon for 8 bucks. You can see them here:

I'm off to solder them on.  The thermisters and resisters aren't polarized, so I don't have to worry about that. I figure I'll make the heater male and the thermister female on the extruder and vice versa on the printer wires. That way I wont be tempted to plug things in the wrong way around. ;-)

I don't have the connectors at hand, but I found two better searches on the digikey site:

My point in replying as I did was to share that the information you sought was already provided - both on the Wiki to begin with, and then right here in thread... I'm sure you appreciate that it gets kinda dull when the same questions are asked when the info has already been provided in the very thread and all that people needed to do is read that info or maybe employ a tiny bit of google-foo.....

I suggest replacing everything with JST. It was a bit painful but it worked in the end.
