I'll hold off on fabbing any enclosure parts until the updated files are posted.

Since the tracking info on the package has never moved past the "electronic notification" stage I have no idea when it will actually hit my doorstep, but I am still holding out hope I can print/cut parts this weekend.

Rob

Acrylic is not great at fracture resistance or cyclic loading. It doesn't take long on this site to see why acrylic can be a poor design choice for cyclic loads....

Hello,

With the news today that I will be getting (later this week I hope) my Filastruder rev 1.1 (>134 serial number) I asked Tim about any changes to the official enclosure.

Below are the notes Tim shared in the KS comment thread. It doesn't sound too dramatic a change but since I pay for laser time at my maker space, I would like to measure twice and cut once.

So, it looks like the changes to make OSP's enclosure work with v1.1 kits are:
- Notch the top so the flange will fit
- Use regular nuts instead of t-nuts (this is ok, kits some with regular nuts)
- Make the hot end hole larger to accommodate the hot end shifting forward ~3/4"
That last one may not be necessary, it's hard to tell for sure. Probably a good idea to double the diameter of that hole though, just in case.
Otherwise it should be ok, though this is not confirmed.

Any official word from OSP whether they will be modifying the enclosure files on Thingiverse to match the new rev? I am hoping to get cutting this weekend.

Thanks,

Rob (post #1 on my way to being able to post build photos)

I tried to get drawings that explained how everything goes together.

We also plan on selling enclosures and hardware kits for enclosures upgrades. This may not be for another week. We are very busy on June kits and I want to make sure we get those done first before we take anything else on.

You guys are doing great work and I look forward to seeing what people can do.

Rob
