nLancaster, I wouldn't mind having the Solidoodle as a real solid model as well.  It might be nice to set up a grabCAD project of parts for others to contribute.   Some of the off the shelf parts we might be able to find in the Cadenas or Traceparts catalogs.

I don't have the time to do the whole model of the Solidoodle but would be happy to contribute some of the parts.

P.S. I use Solid Edge but we can easily share files if you don't mind losing the history for anything I do.

I didn't put the x-carriage in yet and the holes from the bed frame to the alu. platform aren't accurate. Everything else is pretty close. Still have to put in a bunch of work to finish it.

Just opened it. It's a nice model and should serve the purpose well.

Try going via meshlab as a DXF/DWG...

Export as STL using the plugin. Millimetres (I hope!) and STL. Or try the DXF/DWG export (YMMV...) Or Use meshlab (its free) to convert the STL to DXF or DWG then follow the standard 'how do I import DXF to Solidworks' tutorials smile
