i print that last night.... you can see the nozzle of the printer 3 or 4mm from the top of the head. it use the full height of the solidoodle space... i need that 3mm

You should post that in the STL forum with your settings. That turned out really well, with some tricky areas.

If there isn't a necessary height for this piece, why not just scale it to 99%. I understand the desire for the full height for mechanical pieces and other dimensionally critical pieces, but it is pretty much beyond the capability of the human eye to distinguish between 147 mm and 150 mm. By the way, I hope you changed your end g code so that it does not try to lower the bed at the end of the print and grind your z axis at the end.

i have the metal heated bed, i wonder if i could just clip on a another piece of metal and put the tape on that

.. like to do the same....but i will lose some precious mm of the 6" height maximum... argh... hard choice...

I am going to try to fit my solidoodle with a removable build surface as well, will be so much easier to remove prints and change kapton etc etc.

I would try the tile or glass as discussed somewhere on this forum. That way the screws won't be there at all.

i would imagine rotating the part to avoid the screws is the best bet.

im having a little issue where the bed is screwed down to be leveled and and attached. because they are inset it leaves indents in flat prints for example an iphone case. Has anyone had a solutions to fixing this issue?
