As for the guide, I find changing the angle at which it sits can alter the operation a bit, but haven't found the optimum angle. As the moment mine is sitting about 20 degrees from vertical.

Lawsy,

I printed your filament guide to prevent the annoying crazy unwinding my filament does when I retract it out of the extruder. I also have the your take on tek's jigsaw replacement installed. I'm extremely happy with how both came out. Thank you so much! I do however notice my filament right at the top of the jigsaw replacement bending(when extruder moves forward) after installing the filament guide. The tension is causing my blue filament to turn to a light blue/white. I haven't noticed any quality change in my prints but I am nervous the filament might snap mid print. Is your's doing the same? I might try changing the orientation of the guide to see if that helps. Let me know if this is normal or if you have any tips.

Thanks again!

Can't believe I waited so long to do this. Fortunately I had small screws on hand from another project I'm working on. Thanks lawsy!

I had my first issue with this one yesterday, I had noticed that deeper into my roll of filament the spool had a join with just 2 pieces folded to hold the filament together, at some stage one of the folds caught the filament and stopped it coming off the roll, i was using hole number 2 .. the cross bar with the 3 rectangular holes has snapped on the first hole.. then the Y axis skipped about a half inch of steps, so a fair bit of force involved.

will print another one shortly, just thought I would mention it could maybe be stronger but I sort of like the idea of having a filament fuse.

I also have mine feeding from the bottom. I built a PVC Spool holder that holds 10 spools of filament. I've printed from all the spools without an issue. I did print the bushing shown on Lawsy's printer from Thingiverse. I am thinking about adding some tubing from my spools up to my printer to keep the end of each of my rolls next to the printer so I can switch quickly.
