			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Thanks for the kudos Smitty! Glad to do what i can.</p><p>I just snapped my old brackets in two! The one side fell off, and the other took just a bit of force. Yes, red loctite is not really the best choice here. Ditch the PEM nuts and go with lock nuts. The biggest benefit is right-on belt tracking and rigidity.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Until the bearings get here, I printed and installed a set of your design. Nice design work! Very little tweeking was needed.</p><p>Getting the old ones out is a &quot;$%&amp;%&amp;&quot;!&nbsp; Red locktite? Really?<br />Small butane torch was needed to remove screws. Yes ABS burns quite well.<br />Tried to put the fire out with a cup of acetone I had nearby. I didnt know that stuff was flameable! Someone should have told me. Who do I sue? LOL JK <img src="https://www.soliforum.com/img/smilies/smile.png" width="15" height="15" alt="smile" /><br />DISCLAMER: Acetone is Highly flameable! Do not use it to fight fires. I was just kidding in the statement above.</p><br /><p>1. Loctite near plastic makes the plastic brittle. Bad idea!<br />2. Red locktite requires lots of heat to remove. 			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Bearings are always good! I think if i keep lubing the bushings religiously, they should last me for awhile. I&#039;m working on a new extruder design too! I will post after I get it printed. Good luck with the idler brackets. I printed mine at 50 percent rectilinear fill, but might want to up that a tad next time.</p><p>Oh, I had to slightly file the inside walls smooth to get the pulley to fit perfectly. I didn&#039;t have to do anything to the 8mm holes, other than remove support material.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I tried printing them out together but the filament stripped 3/4 through grr! Then i hit the z axis home button without removing the models and thought i&#039;d destroyed the printer when it wedged in the model! Haha</p><p>Where have you ordered the bearings from by the way? I&#039;m interested in knowing where you can get all the components from?</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Love the new design! I just made a mod to your design to add 5x8x2.5 flanged bearings. Should allow smoother operation of the Y axis. These along with 6x13x5 flanged bearings in the back to replace the bushings. I haven&#039;t tested the new design yet but have ordered the bearings. 			<title type="html"><![CDATA[new idler pulley brackets]]></title>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I drew these left and right brackets for my SD3 today. One of the original ones cracked after just a short amount of printing, so I printed new ones before it completely broke and made my machine inoperable. I also took the opportunity to make a stronger design, and add more dampening to the y-axis rod assembly.</p><p>To install, I fist fit the rod into the bracket as shown, and then I put it into final position. My brackets needed almost no cleanup to fit well, thank goodness. Step two, use the guide hole in the new bracket to drill the new secondary mounting hole in your angle iron. One per side. The purpose of this bolt is to both attach the new bracket to the frame, but to also squeeze down on your 8mm y-axis rod. The nut is put up and into the hole on the bottom of the part. Use an open end wrench to hold the nut. You will need two new 4x25mm bolts and lock nuts to attach. </p><p>As for two factory mounting screws, you can choose to reuse your 3mm cap screws, but I broke mine in half due to all the loctite. No worries, just twist off the two little PEM nuts and go with two new 4x12mm button head cap screws and lock nuts, which works the same if not better. Finally, be sure to lube up your idler pulleys with grease. Lastly, you might want to make sure nothing binds or crashes on your specific machine before running a part!</p><p><a href="http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:86720">http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:86720</a></p>]]></content>
