Do you have PLA material?  I tried some bigger things on the 6x6 bed with ABS and never could get it to work. PLA was great and I expect it will be key for a 8x8 bed.

I bought the SD3  I have yet to print anything that big but if I need to I will be able to.

I've been using my son's Solidoodle 2 printer to print things and it has been a lot of fun.  Unfortunately, he moved out of state so I'm looking to buy my own.

I also work in the CAD industry but the printer is just for fun.  My main question now is if I want the Solidoodle 2 or 3.
