As to whether SLA is food safe or not... I certainly wouldn't sell it to the public that way, but I was willing to risk it for my own personal use :-). The material we selected for the actual injection molded production run meets certain FDA requirements for "repeated contact with food substances"

It is indeed me from the Kickstarter video. I have a Solidoodle 2 with a heated bed. I printed a number of prototypes on it, before committing to a more expensive SLA. I wish the SLA was better print quality, (you can see some of the lines from the layers) but some of the other options were a bit more pricey, like machined acrylic, or cast urethane.
I saw the traffic in my blog analytics, so I thought I'd say hello. I'd love to respond to questions, but if I dont get back right away, its cause things are pretty crazy from the Kickstarter campaign.
