Finally I just got the need to print something on my 3d printer in about 1 year and the last 12 hours have been downhill..

I have had my printer set up on my pc before and it worked fine, but when I powered it on today I get the "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed.", and i'm like is my cable broken or something. Tried multiple cables and some of them did not even want to register on my pc. Tried other pcs with windows 11 and 7 but still the faulty usb message.

I even checked the internal SD card to see if that had been corrupted which it did not appear to be. I then let it sit plugged in while I searched for a solution and then my PC played the USB disconnect sound and the LCD showed only black squares. I can see that is when the firmware is corrupted correct?

So I would like to know what my options is. I don't have a J-link but have ST-link v2 if that can be used for anything. As I can read it the J-link is for dumping only, and for the a programmer to work the USB need to work right?.

The main board is 3f1aw wifi engine w5.

The machine is old and I know that it probably not financially wise to try to get a new mainboard, I just want to know if its possible to review it or something. If the USB controller is dead, is there a way to communicate with the Athelm chip via a arduino or ISP?
