I am new to this community. I am pretty much interested to purchase a 3d printer for my home. Can anyone suggest to me the major features that we could consider before ordering it.

Yes there is cad software
CAM AKA slicing software
the machine uses firmware to run g code

CAD :Tinkercad
fusion 360 and blender are popular choices.

Repitier host running cura, slic3r and prusa slicer.
netfab is useful for repairing files
Marlin is the most popular firmware it comes built into the printer.

this is a very open ended loaded question. A better question is what printer is best for you. and only you can answer that one. there are many printers on the market. A lot of good printers a lot of junk and a bunch in the middle.
How much do you have to spend.
what are you using it for business/hobby.
how big do you need the print envelope.
DO you want something pre assembled or are you willing to build a kit.
What knowledge skill and abilities do you have?

there may be but a waste of time in my opinion.
DO your homework take a class at a local makers space and learn about 3d printing before you spend your money. There are lots of good you tube vidios that can teach the basics as well.
