I am wondering why nobody tries to polish or coat this auger, since the theory says that plastic-to-auger friction is supposed to be minimized.

After extruding a few kg of PETG my filastruder clogged and I found this after removing the auger to clean out the clog:

Not super sure what happened, I didn't find any bits of metal while cleaning it out and the barrel didn't appear to be bent.
