If the machine normally uses NTAG213 then it all depends on the firmware if it will allow and recognize new Tags. Like most of the XYZ machine it won't allow refilling as it locks out a tags ID once it has been seen once. But it might allow creation of new tags.

You will be able to use the blank NTAGs if the filament used is the same as used in the other Davinci printers.

Opentag is the only way?

I don't think the Nano has been hacked. It' not a very popular machine. Not many users so no much support.
